Maintenance of daily vitamin and mineral requirements in cold weather

During winter the quantity and nutritional quality of available grazing tends to decrease. This results in an increased reliance on the provision of fibre through dried sources such as Hay or Haylage.  While a diet based solely on fibre sources will meet many nutritional and behavioural requirements, there is likely to be a deficiency in vitamin and mineral levels provided, such as copper, zinc, selenium, and vitamin E.

Equi-bites are a low calorie treat, which are only 6.5% sugar, making them a healthy alternative when it comes to treating your horse. Equi-bites are also suitable for horses and ponies prone to Laminitis or excess body condition. In addition to being a treat, Equi-bites are a fully supplemented vitamin and mineral ‘top up’ for leisure horses and ponies. Providing the nutrients that may be missing from a diet heavily reliant of fibre sources.

Their full vitamin and mineral requirement can be met from as little as 4 treats per day for a small 200kg pony, up to 12 treats per day for a large horse. Equi-bites also provide a source of QLC antioxidants to safe guard the immune system. Equi-bites are combined with vitamin, minerals and QLC antioxidants as well as the inclusion of the natural ingredients of Kale, Spinach, Beetroot, Rosemary, Oregano, Rosehip and Peppermint Oil.  Ensuring that they are as palatable as they are nutritious.  Equi-bites enable you to treat your horse while adding to and not detracting from their carefully considered diet.  Your horse or pony will never guess that they are healthy vitamin and mineral supplement in a treat form.
